On Sunday, January 21, 2015, we arrived at PVR airport then we walked over the pedestrian bridge and grabbed a yellow cab for 100 pesos. He pointed out the new restaurants and resorts as we made our way to Secrets.
We were excited about seeing family for our second week stay in Mexico. Upon arriving to Secrets we were greeted by Robin, Jon, Beverly and Jimmy after getting a complimentary Champagne and cool towel when we pulled into the resort.
We met with the front desk to get our room key and package for our stay. We sat for a while to catch up with everyone then we went upstairs to our room on the 13th floor but could not find the room number, Keith walked to the end of the corridor and swipes our key towards the end and found our door with a large white swag on it saying "Welcome VIP Club Members". It was room 2301 with an ocean view and view of the complete complex. Room is large and very nice. Large king size bed, shower with rain head and regular shower.

We woke to crashing surf on the beach, walked out on the balcony and waved to Robin and Jon in the other building. We had a great week with Robin and Jon and a couple of days with Beverly and Jimmy. Relaxing time at the pool, entertainment every night and wonderful food in the Mexican, Italian and French restaurants.
We heard the Northeast was getting 42" of snow, glad to be in Mexico!
We attended the required sales meeting with Oviana, she was great and after hearing we couch surf and that our 9 weeks in Southeast Asia cost us $4,000 USD, she knew we would not be buying into their vacation club. She did give us the name of a true Mexican restaurant in El Pitillal called Cenaduria El Patio, 3 blocks from La Plaza. Unfortunately, we never made it there.
After the meeting we walked the beach to downtown, went to the Metacomet then Our Lady of Guadeloupe in Olde Town then met up with Robin, Beverly, Jon and Jimmy at Joe Jack's. Walked around then went back to Secrets and played cards in the lobby.

We met everyone at a local restaurant then walked around a little before heading back to the resort and get ready to have dinner at Tamarindo, Mexican restaurant. We were serenaded by Mexican quartet then took in the International Dance show in the Ampi-theatre.
On Wednesday, we sat pool side with Robin and Jon, played some cards and just relaxed. Before dinner we went downstairs for a game of Hand & Foot, Keith and Robin were teamed up but Jon and I were had the cards in our favor today. Tonight's choice of restaurants was the French restaurant, Bourdeaux and it was the best to date. Then we watched an act by the pools doing juggling and aerobatics. There were good and the music was great.
Another day draws to an end
Dinner at Bourdeaux
The staff got us involved in activities during our pool day. We met by the upper pool new Barefoot Cafe. Mario was our waiter, we played HORSE and PIG basketball then asked to join the Olympic Games, we did tug of war, sack races, climb though your teams legs to spin 10 times holding a soccer ball, then run backwards to running flat out to grab a neckerchief. Our lost to a bunch of 20 to 30 year olds.
Another great dinner at Bourdeaux then Keith and Wayne walked around the pools before calling it a night.
On Saturday morning we met Robin and Jon before heading over to the Marina but first to get stainless steel lag bolts for Lungta. While we were in Puerto Vallarta we had been in communication with Dan and Kathy. We were invited to come back to the boat to do some more sailing. So we took a local bus then walked to the "Bull Ring" playa de torros. Could not find the store then walked to Zarzagos Marine, purchased 1 1/2" 6 foot hose for the generator then to the Marina, saw a huge crocodile then had a beer at a restaurant along the marina.
Took a taxi back to the bull ring and found stainless steel lag bolts then bus and stopped at the market for tofu, canned whipped cream and nuts/dried fruit. Got a bus to the Secrets.
We had a dinner at Capers, the Italian restaurant this time. The food was good. Then we headed over to the Grand Salon for the Aztec Spirit Show.
Fantastic desserts at Capers
On Sunday, February 1 we are up at 6:00 a.m. to pack and get ready to leave PVR by bus to Barra de Navidad for another week of sailing.
Up to the room, last check and ready to check out. Down to the front desk, got our get out of jail card and walked to the local bus stop.
We leave Secrets and Puerto Vallarta with fond memories of time with family and just having a great time. Amazing food, sunsets and time spent with Robin, Jon, Beverly and Jimmy.
